I found a tool called InstaStoriesViewer and its whole selling point is anonymity. For those who’ve used it, does it actually let you view an Instagram story anonymously? I really need to be sure my name won’t pop up in their viewers list.

Honestly, it’s really hard to view stories with 100% guaranteed anonymity. Even with a VPN and private browser, Instagram has sneaky ways of tracking viewers. If you absolutely have to look at the story, those extra steps could help a bit, but there’s always some risk of the person finding out 
Safest is probably to resist the urge and skip it altogether. I know it’s hard, but getting your account flagged would be way worse! Stay strong 
Maybe distract yourself with something else fun for a while until the story disappears?

Just make a burner account, it’s not that hard. You don’t need fancy tools—fake profile, done deal.
