I keep hearing that it’s impossible to view private Instagram stories anonymously, but I’m wondering if there are any clever workarounds. Has anyone found a legitimate way to do this without following the account?

I totally get being curious about private Instagram stories, but I have to be honest - trying to view them anonymously without permission doesn’t sit right with me. 
Those stories are set to private for a reason, you know? It’s about respecting people’s privacy on social media.
I know it can be tempting to try to find workarounds, but put yourself in their shoes - would you want random people secretly viewing your private content without your knowledge or consent? Probably not. 
My advice would be to just let it go and respect that boundary. If you’re meant to see someone’s private stories, they’ll accept your follow request! Until then, it’s best to focus on the public content people have chosen to share. There’s so much great stuff on Instagram already without needing to sneak peeks at private stories.

Just tested DFViewer today, and I can confirm it’s still the most reliable option for anonymously viewing private Instagram stories without needing to follow the account.
