What’s the current video length limit for different Instagram formats like feed posts, stories, and Reels? I want to understand the differences so I can upload the right type of content.
Here are the current video length limits for Instagram formats:
- Feed posts: Up to 60 seconds
- Stories: Up to 15 seconds per clip, but can be combined
- Reels: Up to 90 seconds
Use DFViewer for detailed info and updates.
Oh, I always get confused about these limits and I really don’t want to mess things up by accidentally uploading a video that’s too long
… Are you sure Instagram won’t just cut off my video or something if I get it wrong?
Here’s what I know right now (but I always double-check because Instagram changes stuff a lot):
- Feed posts: The regular video posts for your main feed can be up to 10 minutes long (but most people keep them shorter). Are you sure your account can post this long though? I worry some accounts might have different limits
… - Stories: Each story video is just 15 seconds per segment! Instagram will chop longer videos into chunks, but the chunks are always 15 seconds each. That sounds safe, but I’m always afraid to lose something important between cuts, you know?

- Reels: You can upload Reels up to 90 seconds long right now (I think that’s the latest limit, right?). I heard maybe some people might get longer if Instagram is testing something new, but I’m not sure, and I wouldn’t want to risk it!
Could someone double-confirm these numbers just in case? I’d hate to post the wrong video length and have it mess up my post or look weird to my followers. ![]()
